EWOT vs. HBOT

EWOT involves exercising with oxygen, while HBOT entails being in a pressurized chamber with oxygen.

EWOT VS HBOT – Difference and Benefits

Both EWOT and HBOT offer potential benefits through the use of oxygen. EWOT, or Exercise with Oxygen Therapy, involves breathing near-pure oxygen while exercising, while HBOT, or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, involves entering a sealed chamber with increased pressure and pumping in near-pure oxygen.

EWOT is known for being the fastest way to increase oxygen circulation throughout the body. It supersaturates the plasma, driving oxygen deeper into hypoxic tissues. It uses the synergies of oxygen and exercise to deliver the same amount of oxygen as HBOT.

On the other hand, HBOT chambers come in two types: mild hyperbaric chambers and hard-shell chambers. Mild hyperbaric or soft shell chambers are made of fabric and can be purchased with a prescription. They can reach a pressure of 1.3 ATA, which is 30% more pressure than at sea level. Hard-shell chambers, on the other hand, are expensive medical devices that require supervision by medical staff and a doctor’s prescription. They can reach up to 3.0 ATA but are commonly used at 2.4 ATA. A session in a hard-shell chamber typically lasts about 90 minutes and can cost between $250 and $750.

Regarding the basic science behind HBOT, it works on the principle that increasing pressure on a gas like air or oxygen reduces its volume. This means that more oxygen can be taken in with each breath than normally breathed at sea level. Additionally, HBOT chambers use near-pure oxygen to boost the oxygen levels further. This combination of increased pressure and oxygen purity can significantly increase the amount of oxygen consumed during a session.

However, there are drawbacks to HBOT. It can be time-intensive, with sessions lasting 90 minutes. It can also be expensive, with costs ranging from $500 for a session in a hard-shell chamber to $15,000 for a soft-shell chamber. Spending 90 minutes in a chamber can also be claustrophobic for some people. There are also risks associated with HBOT, such as the danger of sudden depressurization or oxygen poisoning.

On the other hand, EWOT offers a more affordable and practical option for general health and wellness improvements. It involves breathing near-pure oxygen while doing a cardio workout for 15 minutes. This method allows for the oxygen to be pulled into the blood plasma, similar to what happens in hard-shell HBOT. Additionally, the exercise component of EWOT provides its own benefits, and the combination of exercise and oxygen can have synergistic effects.

In conclusion, both HBOT and EWOT offer similar benefits, but EWOT may be a more convenient and cost-effective option for general health and wellness improvements. HBOT may be more suitable for individuals who cannot exercise or have specific medical conditions.
